Okasa lovely food is a charming local eatery nestled in the heart of Oaxaca de Juárez, offering an authentic taste of traditional Mexican cuisine. Located on Calle De La c, Reforma 905, this place captures the spirit of Oaxaca with its warm hospitality and well-crafted dishes. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed by friendly servers and a wholesome atmosphere that invites you to relax and savor every bite.
The culinary experience at Okasa lovely food is one marked by simplicity and freshness. Breakfast here is a standout, featuring hearty portions that fuel you well into the afternoon. The waffles are a crowd favorite, perfectly fluffy and balanced with fresh fruit, while the spinach omelette offers a nutritious and flavorful start to your day. Guests also rave about the Ejutecos, a local delicacy that blends traditional flavors with satisfying textures. Complementary drinks like rich coffee, sparkling lemonade, fresh juices, and even horchata add refreshing layers to the meal.
What truly makes Okasa lovely food shine is its genuine connection to the local culture. Unlike typical restaurants with extensive menus, this spot serves only a few carefully selected dishes throughout the day, ensuring each plate is fresh and thoughtfully prepared. One memorable dish includes chicken with a subtle pineapple sauce—a delightful twist that highlights the chef’s creativity without overwhelming the natural flavors.
Service is consistently praised for being friendly, attentive, and prompt, with staff that make you feel like a valued guest rather than just a customer. The atmosphere is lively yet comfortable, with just the right level of background music to enhance your dining experience. Prices remain reasonable, offering excellent value given the generous portions and quality of food.
For travelers seeking a truly local and hearty meal in Oaxaca, Okasa lovely food is an unmissable stop. It balances tradition and comfort with a welcoming vibe that keeps visitors coming back again and again. After dining here myself, I was left with a deep appreciation for the simplicity and sincerity of their cooking—a perfect reflection of Oaxaca’s rich culinary heritage.
“ This place was great. Our server Noah was so friendly and hospitable. I had the Ejutecos and omg they were delicious. The breakfast came with coffee, OJ and papaya. They accepted cards. Amazing stop! ”
“ Amazing place to eat when visiting Oaxaca! This place was suggested by our guide, but we all loved it so much we visited again the next day! Service is friendly and prompt. The food choices vary greatly, including a local speciality of crickets. The meals are well-priced and very large - breakfast will definitely keep you going until late afternoon. I recommend the waffles or spinach omelette. ”
“ A pretty local and traditional kitchen in north central Oaxaca. They don’t have a menu, they just serve a couple of options for different meals throughout the day. My friend and I chose the chicken meal. They gave us horchata and consommé to begin, both of which were very nice and not overly sweet or seasoned. The chicken has a sauce with pineapple, which was interesting. I liked it more than my friend. The salad was delicious! Also, they served a habanero salsa that was perfectly balanced. And this two-course meal for two only cost us 185 MXN (~$10.20 USD)! It’s definitely a good place to have a low-key lunch or dinner that doesn’t break the bank. ”
“ Incredible food, super wholesome atmosphere. We felt well taken care of by the hosts and nourishing food. Was a huge pleasure to be there! We went there two days in a row and I am going to miss this place ”
“ I come to Oaxaca often, and when I do my family and I always stop by Okasa. They have great food and service. Love their waffles! Their sparking lemonade is one of the best. On top of the great food their prices are economical. ”
